I’ve been dreaming, reading and writing romance for years, ever since I first read The Far Pavilions under my desk in Chemistry class. A few years later, I stayed up all night devouring Harlequin Mills and Boon novels as part of my English degree at Lancaster University, and promptly gave up any pretext of enjoying tragic stories. After all, what’s the point of a book without a happy ending?
I love setting my stories in the places I’ve lived – from the wilds of the Welsh mountains, to the gentile humour of the English country village, or the heat and tension of a London summer. I also have a tendency to make my characters kiss in castles.
Currently, I make my home in Hertfordshire, with my scientist husband (who still shakes his head at the reading in Chemistry thing) and our four year old, Alice in Wonderland obsessed, daughter. I write my love stories in the study I begrudgingly share with the husband, while drinking too much tea and eating homemade cakes. Or, when things are looking very bad for my heroes and heroines, white wine and dark chocolate.
