Let’s Go Fly A Kite

Posted on April 16, 2013 by Sophie Pembroke • Leave a comment

This weekend, spring finally seemed to make an appearance, just in time for the daughter to head back to school today for her last term in the nursery class. Still, she made the most of it, as you can see from her gleeful, kite chasing photo. For me, back to school means back to work. … Continue reading »

Easter: Weddings, Deadlines, Flash Mobs & Reading Under The Covers

Posted on April 1, 2013 by Sophie Pembroke • Leave a comment

There’s still a little snow on the ground here in places – and a lot more back home in Wales – but with the Easter holidays upon us it’s just got to be Spring now, right? Unusually for us, we were at home for Easter this year, rather than up in Wales, because a very … Continue reading »

Bake 15: Cheese Scones

For the first time this year, I’m a week behind in my 52 bakes challenge. I have a number of excuses for this, which I shall share with you purely to make myself feel better: I actually cannot face any more cake or chocolate after Easter. The daughter has what we’re officially calling ‘The Snuffles’ … Continue reading »

An Egg-cellent Easter Weekend

Posted on April 9, 2012 by Sophie Pembroke • 1 Comment

The daughter has decided that Easter is her favourite time in the world ever. I think it might have something to do with the chocolate for breakfast thing. But then, it might have more to do with what a wonderful weekend we’ve had at home in Wales. We spent Good Friday on an egg hunt … Continue reading »

Bake 14: Simnel Cake

Posted on April 6, 2012 by Sophie Pembroke • Leave a comment

I’m starting with a disclaimer again this week – I will not be eating any of this cake, so cannot faithfully report on what it tastes like. I can’t abide marzipan, so the very idea of this one turns my stomach. But the husband – and, it turns out after considerably testing during the baking … Continue reading »

Bake (sort of) 13: Easter Nests

Okay, I need to start this week’s bake with a few confessions. It’s not really a bake. At no point do these cakes go in the oven. But… they’re Rice Krispie cake nests! With mini eggs! And it’s nearly Easter! They have to count, right? I know these are the simplest cakes in the world. … Continue reading »

Bake 12: Hot Cross Scones and an Anti Reality Day

Posted on March 24, 2012 by Sophie Pembroke • Leave a comment

We were having an anti-reality day. In case you can’t tell from the particularly shoddy photo, that’s the daughter and Teddy, hiding in her Wendy House with her Cuddly. She’s also wearing a fairy princess dress. It was that sort of a day. The sort of day where you ignore the rest of the world, … Continue reading »

Bake 10: Criminally Easy Chocolate Chip Shortbread

The daughter and I have been eating a lot of Hot Cross Buns lately. Yes, I know there’s still four weeks to go until Good Friday, but they’re on special offer in Tesco at the moment, and they make such a yummy, warming, non chocolatey afternoon tea when she starts saying, “Mummy, I really do like chocolate,” at around … Continue reading »

Hello!

I'm Sophie, and I write romances about friends, family and falling in love.

My next book, Stranded with the Tycoon, will be released as part of the Harlequin Romance line this September, with another book to follow from them next year.

In December, the third novel in my Love from Wales series, Summer of Love, will be released from Lyrical Press - the first two are available as e-books in all formats right now.

Between books, I blog about my family, my life here in Britain, cake and castles.

I'm thrilled to have you here!
