Sneak preview of An A to Z of Love

Posted on June 12, 2012 by Sophie Pembroke • Leave a comment

In just over a month the second book in my Love From Wales series is released, and it occurs to me I haven’t talked very much about it yet. So, what’s it about? Well… Everyone’s talking about Mia Page. Again. Mia Page has been the subject of gossip in Aberarian for half her life, ever … Continue reading »

The Avalon Inn Visiting Book

Posted on May 21, 2012 by Sophie Pembroke • Leave a comment

The Avalon Inn has a visitors book, of course, full of people commenting on the food, and the hills, and the gardens, and the rain. But this post isn’t that. This post is the Avalon Inn Visiting Book – places the Avalon Inn and I have been featured since the release of Room for Love earlier this month, in … Continue reading »

I’m over at Cassandra Carr’s blog today, talking about the joys of attraction – and posting an excerpt of Carrie and Nate’s first meeting in Room for Love. Stop on by and let me know what you think? I’d love to see you there. Attraction… Continue reading »

Cover Love!

Posted on March 26, 2012 by Sophie Pembroke • 2 Comments

As a special treat to make up for losing an hour to British Summer Time yesterday, I got to see the new cover for An A to Z of Love. Isn’t it pretty? Lyrical Press have done an amazing job on my covers, and I’m so grateful. What I love most about the covers for … Continue reading »

Home is where the DIY is

Posted on February 1, 2012 by Sophie Pembroke • Leave a comment

I’ve been thinking a lot about home this week. Mostly because we’re in the early stages of putting our house up on the market, so we’re looking at what we need to do to make it appealing to a buyer, and talking about what we’re hoping for in our new home. We’ve been in this … Continue reading »

Guest post from Laurel Gans

Posted on October 27, 2011 by Sophie Pembroke • 3 Comments

Today, I’m lucky enough to have Laurel Gans, author of Waitlisted, here, talking about something I empathise with hugely – the chick lit lives we all thought we’d lead when we grew up! I have always adored reading chick-lit! Needless to say, the books I read gave me a slightly skewed vision of what my … Continue reading »

Writing the Dreaded Synopsis

Posted on August 2, 2011 by Sophie Pembroke • Leave a comment

I do not enjoy synopsis writing. I realise this doesn’t exactly make me unique – very few writers do, I’ve found. But for me, the hardest part has always been trying to condense my sprawling, nuanced story into a couple of pages of coherent narrative. So I’ve started doing something new. I write the synopsis first. Continue reading »

One Cool Mother

Posted on April 3, 2011 by Sophie Pembroke • 3 Comments

It’s Mother’s Day in the UK today, and I’ve been thinking about fictional Mums. I think I under use the mother-daughter (or mother-son for that matter) relationship in a lot of my projects. It is, by its very nature, a breeding ground for conflict of pretty much every sort. Continue reading »

What I’ve Been Reading – and Why

Posted on March 28, 2011 by Sophie Pembroke • 2 Comments

In the last week, I’ve read one YA paranormal, one standalone contemporary romance, one historical romance, one book on tarot and a book about how villages have evolved, grown and developed in Britain. Quite aside from the fact that this is more than I have read in months (thanks in part to the suggestions on … Continue reading »

Those of you who’ve been here before might notice I’ve been doing some fiddling with the site this weekend. I like how it’s looking now, but I still have more things I want to add. And I need your help to do it. Continue reading »

Sophie Pembroke

Romance Writer

Hello!

I'm Sophie, and I write romances about friends, family and falling in love.

My next book, Stranded with the Tycoon, will be released as part of the Harlequin Romance line this September, with another book to follow from them next year.

In December, the third novel in my Love from Wales series, Summer of Love, will be released from Lyrical Press - the first two are available as e-books in all formats right now.

Between books, I blog about my family, my life here in Britain, cake and castles.

I'm thrilled to have you here!
