Changing Priorities

Posted on September 7, 2011 by Sophie Pembroke • 12 Comments

This round of ROW80 has been a bit of a windy road for me. On the one hand, fantastic news and a writing contract in hand. On the other, the realisation that there are actually only 24 hours in the day, and I can’t do everything I want to, no matter how hard I try. Continue reading »

Getting The Call. Metaphorically.

Posted on August 24, 2011 by Sophie Pembroke • 20 Comments

I’ve always loved reading other people’s The Call stories. In the same way I love looking at photos of other people’s writing spaces, it makes me feel closer to them and their writing, and helps me imagine my perfect writing space. My perfect moment, when I get The Call. Last Friday, I got The Email, … Continue reading »

Tea & Devilry update – ROW80

Posted on August 17, 2011 by Sophie Pembroke • 14 Comments

I think I can say with some cautious confidence that changing my goal was a good idea. My new goal – finishing a first draft of Tea & Devilry – is going really well. Since I made the change, two weeks ago, I’ve written 10,000 words. The story’s flowing, the characters are coming to life … Continue reading »

Goals: setting, hitting and changing

Posted on August 3, 2011 by Sophie Pembroke • 9 Comments

One of the beautiful things about the Round of Words in 80 days challenge is that ability to change your goals, as and when you need to. An admission: I love setting goals. I love aiming high, having deadlines, striving to complete enough to put a tick on my to do list. I love seeing my … Continue reading »

Halfway Through and Loose Ends

Posted on June 22, 2011 by Sophie Pembroke • 6 Comments

I’ve been very neglectful here recently, at blogging, at checking in for ROW80 and, I’ll admit, at writing, too. Yesterday was the summer solstice; the nights are now officially drawing in. We’re halfway through the solar year, and it seems to me that this is the perfect time to renew ambitions, look at what I … Continue reading »

Update on Life

Posted on May 22, 2011 by Sophie Pembroke • 6 Comments

I know, I know. Where the hell have I been? Many apologies. I don’t want this blog to be a chronicle of my personal life, rather than my writing one, so suffice to say that things in the real world have been alternately trying, difficult, great and troublesome recently. I’ve not been in a position … Continue reading »

ROW80 Check In – 1st May

Posted on May 1, 2011 by Sophie Pembroke • 7 Comments

Right. I am now back at the right end of the country. The chicken pox is gone. After a week of family stuff, a funeral, and quite a lot of wine, I’m ready to get back to work properly. I did manage to get some work done this week, but I tried to take the … Continue reading »

A Day Late & A Dollar Short (ROW80 4th check in)

Posted on April 18, 2011 by Sophie Pembroke • 2 Comments

This weekend got away from me a little bit. No, actually, this weekend stomped on my head and sent me crying to my Mummy. Despite the ongoing sleep deprivation (daughter now appears opposed to sleep as a philiosophy, rather than just naps) I have got lots done since last Wednesday. Continue reading »

ROW80 – Third Check In

Posted on April 13, 2011 by Sophie Pembroke • 12 Comments

Okay, it’s Wednesday again, which means it’s time to fess up on how the goals are going. First off, I’ve now been trying to persuade my daughter to have a nap for the last two hours. It’s not going well. She didn’t have one on Monday, either, and only had a half hour cat nap … Continue reading »

ROW80 – Second Check In

Posted on April 10, 2011 by Sophie Pembroke • 11 Comments

The second half of this week has rather gotten away from me – as evidenced by the fact that instead of the two posts planned between Wednesday’s check in and today’s, my blog skips straight from one to the other. Continue reading »

Sophie Pembroke

Romance Writer

Hello!

I'm Sophie, and I write romances about friends, family and falling in love.

My next book, Stranded with the Tycoon, will be released as part of the Harlequin Romance line this September, with another book to follow from them next year.

In December, the third novel in my Love from Wales series, Summer of Love, will be released from Lyrical Press - the first two are available as e-books in all formats right now.

Between books, I blog about my family, my life here in Britain, cake and castles.

I'm thrilled to have you here!
