ROW80 – Second Check In

The second half of this week has rather gotten away from me – as evidenced by the fact that instead of the two posts planned between Wednesday’s check in and today’s, my blog skips straight from one to the other.

I have excuses, of course – a choir concert that ate up my entire weekend, and left me incapable of stringing a sentence together for most of today, let alone editing anything; fantastic weather that meant picnics in the garden and trips to the swings; a two year old who has decided she only needs naps every other day…

But more importantly, I have the flexibility of ROW80 to bolster my flagging spirits, and make up for my uninspired totals for the last few days. I still have plenty of days left to make up my time, and I set my goals with a decent padding period, so there’s no need to panic just yet. Although I really need to do better next week!

Anyway, since Wednesday I have:

  • Revised 2,000 of Sea Fever – instead of the 8,000 I’d hoped for
  • Block plotted the first half of Tea & Devilry – instead of the whole thing

So, at the risk of jinxing myself, what do I hope to achieve by Wednesday’s check in?

  • Revise another 8,000 words of SF
  • Write my working synopsis for Tea & Devilry

Let’s see how I get on!

    Hello, Sophie!

You know what? Maybe you didn’t reach the goals you had set for yourself this week, but sometimes Real Life is pushy like that, and you still got a lot of good work done! That’s wonderful! Here’s to more great progress this week. You can do it! 😀

Thanks Claire – excellent pep talk! Real life can be domineering, but I think my imaginary life has the power to fight back. This week, it’s all about the fictional!

Hey, you STILL got stuff done. You might have had a lot going on, but you still made progress. That’s better than nothing! Way to go! 😀

You got stuff done and really a 2yr old who only needs a nap every second day and sunshine were impossible obstacles to get over – you did well

Thank you! I just really want her to start napping again!
I feel like sunshine shouldn’t be quite so distracting, but for all I know this week might be all the summer Britain’s getting this year. It’s happened before.
