Love & Writing, The Organised Writer

ROW80 Check In – 29th May

I feel like I’m finally starting to get back on track. With only another two days left in the month, I have (probably) another 10,000 words to write to finish this draft of Breaking the Spell. So that’s pretty much my goal for the week.

I’ve written about 12,500 on it since last week, but more importantly, I’ve got back into the feel of the book, remembered why I loved the characters so much, why the story mattered to me. 5,000 words a day is a lot for me, but for two days and for this book, I feel confident I can do it.

And then I can spend June making it better.

  1. Yeah! It’s always great to get back into the story, get that feeling again. I’m in the process of looking for that feeling now. It’s being evasive. Good luck with your writing and finishing the story.

  2. Sounds like you are where I am at with the word count with the 10 k left to write. I am going to let the editing begin. I know I will be able to come up with at least another 10 k words while editing the story.

Good luck with your progress for the week.

  3. It sounds like you’ve had great word counts if you’ve written 12,500 since last week! Getting back into the feel of the book is really important. I’ve gone through stages where I hated my book. We go through these phases sometimes. Keep up the good work!
